Role and Responsibilities of Area Representatives

Area Representatives are the CPSWQ representatives at the local level (typically state or province). They provide the link between Regional Council Representatives and CPSWQs, CPESCs, CESSWIs and other individuals interested in the CPSWQ program within their local area.

Area Representatives are expected to stay up-to-date on the CPSWQ program including qualification requirements, In-Training requirements and professional development requirements. Area Representatives should maintain contact with the CPSWQ Administrative Office and Regional Representatives and take the initiative to promote the CPSWQ program at appropriate opportunities. They should identify themselves and their locale as contacts for information about CPSWQ in appropriate public gatherings. They should assist the Council Regional Representative in providing the Exam Reviews and facilitating the proctoring of the CPSWQ exam.

To maximize their effectiveness, Area Representatives should actively participate in state and regional chapters of the founding partner organizations (SWCS and IECA) to promote the CPSWQ program and related continuing education.
